10 year reunion and other happenings

I had my 10 year high school reunion a couple of weekends ago.  It was a great time seeing everyone.  We had a reception at the school first, then followed by dinner at Boxwood Bistro.  It was a fun evening of catching up and reminiscing.  Here are a few pics from the night as well as other funny pics from the last couple weeks.

the class of 2001...only about 18 of the actual 70 we graduated with unfortunately, I think there may be more boys than girls...unexpected.

I recently went to a toy consignment sale and racked up on some books...30 to be exact...I also got a playmat and activity toy for Brecken along with a set of golf clubs for Greer.  Grand total $30.

Greer is loving Brecken's toys right now including the bumbo...he's a little too big but doesn't seem to mind one bit.

This is one of my favorites!  I left the room for a minute and came back to find Greer was "sharing" with Brecken.  What a sweet brother?!  I have a feeling sports will be in her future.

Lastly, this is what my sweet husband brought home on our birthday...my favorite ice cream and 2 dozen roses!  I am the luckiest girl in the world!  I love him!

Toddler Tumble

This summer I signed Greer up for a toddler tumbling class with our friends the Robertsons.  It was a class designed for 2-3 year olds, although I don't think they took into consideration a 2 year boy is a little different than a 2 year old girl!  Either way, Greer loved it.  He ran around constantly, we deemed it his "staying loose laps".  He learned how to do forward rolls, backward rolls, handstands, and cartwheels.  I use "learned" very loosely, he was shown and attempted it best he could.  It was amazing to see the difference though from our first class to the last.  He listened better and attempted all activities.  They also threw in fun games and walked the balance beam several times.  We loved the teacher, Miss Vicki, she was so patient and loving to the kids!  Overall, it was a fun filled way to let out some energy and learn something new this summer.

Golden birthday

Most of you who read this blog are already aware of the rather strange but quite unique commonality that Geoff and I share...our birthday.  And this year is our golden birthday! I was informed of this from my mom this morning. A golden birthday is just turning the age of your birthday date, hence 28 on the 28th.  So to my love.  Happy Birthday, Geoff!  I couldn't imagine a more worthy person to share this special day with!  I love you so much!  I look forward to many, many more birthday celebrations to come!  And of course I wouldn't leave you without some new pictures....

Greer's 2 year photos

 These are a little late in posting but here are a bunch of pictures I took of Greer back in April.  The pictures were taken outside a at a local Jackson church.  Greer is getting so big, so fast.  I also put a few pictures from his 1 year birthday at the end just to see the contrast.

We were up at 5:45 this am and so I decided it was definitely going to be a pajama kind of day.  You gotta love life with kids!

Sunday

This past Sunday was Brecken's first time in church nursery. She did great and they loved her. It is amazing how different things are the second time around. With Greer, we dreaded taking him to nursery and waited as long as we possibly could. On the other hand, we couldn't wait to take Brecken! Not because we don't love her but we weren't afraid of that step plus we already know and love the nursery workers, so that helps too!

Betrothed

 Yes, it's true!  I'm sorry boys but this girl is taken.  Brecken is betrothed to a handsome, slightly more mature (1 month older) Remi Sabbe.  My friend, Stephanie and I have always joked that our kids would marry so we could be related and it just so happens she had a boy in April and I had a girl in May.  Perfect!  This onsie was a gift from the future mother-in-law.  Isn't it adorable.  Brecken, you have a very crafty future MIL!  Stephanie also made the adorable shoes below.  Like I said, so crafty!  Thanks Stephanie!
